This is an antique Bohemian glass lidded vanity bottle that would have been part of a dresser set. This bottle probably would have been meant to hold cotton balls, but may have had some other use. The piece is quite old, definitely 19th century, probably 1850 to 1870 period, and is made of ruby red flash on clear blown glass. The decoration consists of leaf motifs, possibly grape vines. The bottle is ten sided and the top is fairly deep and hollow. The bottle measures 6 1/8 in height and 2 3/4 in diameter across its bottom. The underside has a hand polished pontil mark. It is in very good condition except for a tiny shallow chip and roughness to the inside bottom rim of the top (see close-up photos) and a bit of wear to the flash, mostly on the top (see close-up photo) - otherwise, there are no other chips, cracks or wear.
